Hum is hiring a Full Stack Engineer to lead our scaling efforts. As an early hire at Hum, this role comes with the opportunity to lead our frontend team as we build it out or continue on as an individual contributor. This is a once-in-a-career opportunity for the right person.

Responsibilities
Architect and lead the development of best-in-class full stack systems spanning backend services and customer-facing applications.
Build and deploy intuitive applications across web and mobile environments using Next.js.
Design and operate the data and API layer on Supabase (Postgres, auth, storage, and real-time), keeping it reliable as the customer base scales.
Implement best practices for device, application, and system cybersecurity.
Keep up on the latest advancements in the field and incorporate them into Hum's systems.
Ideal qualities:
5+ years of professional full stack development experience, ideally building and shipping web applications end to end.
Proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+) and TypeScript for type-safe, scalable code, with strong experience in Next.js (App Router, SSR/SSG, and API routes). Familiarity with React, Vue.js, or Angular 15+ is a plus.
Hands-on experience with Supabase, including Postgres schema design, row-level security, auth, storage, and real-time subscriptions.
Solid understanding of HTML5, CSS3, and modern styling tools (e.g., Tailwind, Styled Components), with an eye for translating wireframes and prototypes into polished interfaces.
Strong backend fundamentals: building reliable APIs (REST and GraphQL) and working knowledge of languages such as Python, Node.js, or Go.
Familiarity with containerization and deployment tool such as Docker and Kubernetes.
Experience with ORM frameworks, such as TypeORM.
Strong SQL skills, including schema design, stored procedures, and query optimization.
Exposure to real-time data handling (e.g., WebSockets) and IoT-related projects.
Proven experience deploying and operating cloud applications (AWS, Azure, or similar), with familiarity with DevOps practices (CI/CD, Docker) a plus.
Comfort with version control (Git), agile workflows, and configuration management practices.
